Wifi works with anything, but the threaded wont work with anything. It all started after my router was changed from universe tv.
Yes, i did try a working ethernet cable, pulled it directly off my main tower, and it too did not work.
Wifi works but not ethernet cable. A couple days ago i awoke to having no internet access over any devices connected through. I took it off yesterday and it still won't work. If you see that, there is some wear and tear in the cable, which may be an indication of poor connection.
Perform the command when wired and then again when connected wifi. I should mention that the password is still off. Modem & ethernet work but no wifi the internet to my cable modem works, and when i plug the ethernet cable from the modem directly into a computer, that works, but with the ethernet cable running from the modem to the router, the nighthawk shows a red light for the internet and will not offer any connectivity.
I don’t know of a consumer router that can have a configuration error that permits wifi but not. I unplugged ethernet cable and cameras will not show up however web sites will again. If the wifi works, then ethernet should also work.
To fix this, check the ethernet cable for damage, ensure your connections are correct and reset your router/modem. Bt broadband wifi working but not ethernet go to solution if it's a tp link straight from the box then the gateway address is probably 192.168.1.1, change. Also, i cannot access my router from the 192.168.1.1 address, so i can't edit any settings right now.
Believe it or not, this might tell you that the ethernet is. 2 days ago i moved my modem/router upstairs so i could hardwire my xbox. So here is my story.
The wifi works flawlessly, but i get unidentified network when i plug the ethernet cable in. I physically pulled the wifi card from the laptop, un/reinstalled the ethernet adapter in device manager, with its drivers, and there was no change: Connect the cable to another port if available, or connect the cable.
First, check if the computer connects using a hardwired ethernet cable on a wired connection. My wireless laptop could not access my camera's ip addresses, i plugged in the internet cable from router and they work fine however other web sites will not load. 1) find the make and model of the wifi chip you have 2) then go to the vendor's website, find support and look for downloads 3) download.

Let me tell you my setup to start off: I've been looking for a solution for the last five days and i still can't wrap my head around this fucking problem. Wifi works but wired ethernet and cable tv do not.
If your wifi is on but your ethernet stopped working, it could be because of improper connections, damaged network cables, outdated drivers, conflicting network settings, an unplugged cable, and viral attacks. Including this computer, my ps3, a macbook pro and an old laptop with xp. I have a 2 way splitter outside my house that runs 1 coax connection to my living room (where my contour box is) and 1 connection to my basement (where my panoramic modem/router is).
Check the cable connection first. Followed by hitting the restore button and power cycling as described here. It's almost as if my connection is bypassing the router entirely, even though the cable runs directly to it.
Also, check for any broken ports.
